Faster than a speeding bullet

George Keefer Reeves
Born: Janurary 5, 1914 in Woolstock Iowa
Died: June 16, 1959 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California.

Soon after George was born he and his mother moved to Pasadena, California.
when he was just a baby his parents divorced, and as George got older he asked his mother about his father, she told him he committed suicide.
Soon this would be the biggest mistake his mother ever did.
George went to Pasadena Junior College where he studied music and acting, later on became interested in boxing, his mother did not approved, worried he was going to ruin his good looks, she convinced him to stop, he did.
At age 21 in 1935 he joined The Pasadena Community Playhouse.

Pasadena Playhouse opened in 1925 (although it was founded in 1917 but the theater was established in 1924). The people of Pasadena donated/raised funds to build the theater in 395 El Molino Ave. Pasadena artist and architect Elmer Grey designed the theater in Spanish Colonial Revival style.
The theater went through many productions over the years with notable actors such as Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, Raymond and Sally Struthers.
The theater closed its doors due to bankruptcy in 1969, but alas! it reopened in 1985. Pasadena Playhouse is still open today.

In 1939 a casting agent saw George in a play at the playhouse and liked what he saw and offered him a role to one day to become a legendary movie 'Gone With The Wind'.

The Warner Bros. studio decided to change George Bessolo (stepfather's name) to Reeves, to them it sounded a lot better. (This was common and still is for actors to change their names).

While being at the Playhouse he met a young actress Ellanora Needles they married in 1940
im guessing they didnt have much in common because they marriage didn't last long

George Reeves was under contract with Warner Bros. he made many unsuccessful films. By 1943 he got into a big film ' For So Proudly we Hail' it was successful at the box office, he started to get recognition.

World War 2 was a thing at this time, Reeves enlisted.
The director of the film saw big things happening for George and promised him great success for when he comes back.
While stationed in New York he was offered to be in a play, while this was happening his biological father tracked him down, they met. Soon after George was furious at his mother, as she told him his father has committed suicide which was untrue for the obvious reasons. He never spoke to his mother again. Reeves only saw his father that one time he found him. Never saw him again.

George returned home on 1946 ready for stardom he was promised, he was 32 at the time. The film director who promised him for a successful career passed away, George didn't know what to do next, he sort of relied on that promise.
His marriage wasn't going anywhere either, In 1949 his wife left him for another man.  told you.

Around that time the 50's, The television was getting very popular but for actors was a nightmare, why? well, because most famous actors viewed television as a last resort, a failure, and it was for the has-been or never-been.

Since television was on the rise it was also a way to spend time with family, attracting a much younger audience, producers saw there must be a kids show whilst making one of the comics Superman to be real.

Superman was created by two Cleveland, Ohio high school students, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, it took them 5 years to sell their idea, after they were able to sell their superman idea it became very popular being on the comic strip on the newspaper in 1939.

Soon after it was made as a comic book, radio show, first superman movie serial starting Kirk Alyn.

Television was the only choice for George at the moment, producers for the new superman show wanted George to be The man of steel, although all these great things was happening George felt he has failed.. he saw no future in television.
He was very unsure of the show if it was even going to broadcast, by 1951 George completed filming the first 26 episodes, him thinking this will fail.... guess what.. the show was shelved for 2 years...
But! after that it got sponsors and went on air in 1953. And big surprise to George.. everyone loved the show! especially the kids.
Couple of weeks after the show aired it has gotten so popular he couldn't go anywhere, he has finally gotten the fame he wanted. Although Reeves loved having a job, he did not liked being a comic book hero, he didn't like the costume he had to dye his hair, wear rubber muscles, and also a corset.

Cool Fact: After every season Reeves would burn his costume and cut out the 'S' and give it away to a fan.

After a couple of seasons George was fed up with portraying the Superman character, he felt it wasn't serious acting.
But like everyone else he kept his mouth shut because he needed a job. Although he still was able to be on a big film, but another problem was that everyone now saw his as superman and only superman.
'From here to Eternity' was his last major film.

In the 50's he met a woman, Toni Mannix. Toni was 10 years older, she was a former Ziegfeld Follies showgirl, George and toni we're seeing each other while she was married to Eddie Mannix, Mr. Mannix was a film executor and producer for MGM .

(Toni and Eddie Mannix)

Toni's and George's affair sounded more like a friendship and a little more, her husband didn't seem to mind their relationship.
Toni was a mother/girlfriend to George, she gave him security, Toni bought George his house in Beverly Hills, a car, and paid most of his bills.
In 1957 the sixth and last season of Adventures with Superman wrapped up, for George it was difficult to remove the Superman image and it was hard to get more acting gigs so he decided to start directing, he actually directed the last 3 episodes of Adventures with Superman.
At 43 George seemed to be going on a mid-life crisis, be became a heavy drinker and felt his dreams  weren't fulfilled , As Toni was providing him most of the time he felt it wasn't right.

He met Leonore Lemmon
in New York later that year. Lenore was well known in the New York club scene, she was a party girl. George was attracted to her and she to him.

George invited to Lenore to come to California and visit him, she did. And she practically moved in with him. As they both were falling for each other, Toni in the other hand was not approving this, Since Toni and George weren't official George wasn't obligated to stay single.
Toni was so jealous she didn't like Leonore at all, she harassed the couple up to the point where George had to file a complaint to the police. Now with George and his new woman he was partying like there was no tomorrow. They both went through so much of his money, he was running out and fast. There was talk of making a couple more Superman episodes and George wouldn't mind of doing so because he needed the money and work. when he was with Toni she managed his money and since all the partying and new girlfriend spending his money, he was missing Toni and their stable relationship.
George was quite confused about his love life, did he wanted to stay with Leonore or go back with Toni?, In 1959 George and Leonore went out for dinner they were seen arguing quite a bit, who knows what they were truly arguing about, as they went back home they invited some friends and neighbors to their house to have some drinks,
Leonore was having fun with friends downstairs, George went upstairs minutes later...
there was a gun shot.
He was found dead. naked on his bed with a bullet hole on his head and a gun near his body he was 45 years old.
Cops were called and instantly ruled it as a suicide for the obvious crime scene.
There are many theories of what happened that night, some say leonore herself killed him, others say George used to play a game where a gun was loaded with a blank and mock suicide.. and someone replaced it with a real bullet. So many theories out there of what really could've happened.
Leonore left town immediately .. she didn't wanted to deal with this.
Toni was devastated like if her life was over and she never fully recovered.
George's body had 2 autopsies and later on ruled by his injuries as a homicide
but still very unclear who killed him
one of the biggest Hollywood murder mysteries.

Ghost Sightings
George Reeves house was given back to Toni Mannix
today the house can be rented but no one lasts for no more than 2 nights...
it is also used for television and films,
There has been reports of ghost sightings and strange things happening in the house and noises,
some have seen his apparition in his Superman Costume, In the room where he died the bed is always being moved by itself, the smell of gun powder comes and goes
lights goes on and off and neighbors often see a familiar man on the front lawn.. George?

Who do you think killed George?
was it suicide? or someone wanted him gone?
are the ghost sightings real?

i encourage you to read more about George Reeves, his early years, life in Hollywood and his death.
there is so much more details to know.

escape ~ A Poem a Day in March

To fall asleep is like swimming
 deep in the ocean
with no direction
but for a purpose,
escape.
Never before had a question about it
but always wondered,
will i make it out alive?
trying too hard to breathe when suffocating
never finding a way out.

Buy but never replace
Receive but never choose
Cry but never regret
Laugh but never descend
Balance...
the ability to balance ...

wish ~ A Poem a Day in March

Wishing every night is not doing anything,
i cry with all my might
my tears are shimmering down my face
they make me shrink to the person
i don't want
how can i grow to the person i desire to be?

coming back ~ A Poem a Day in March

I don't need your help
i caught fire in my hands
its burning
only i can make it go away
i choose not to
i can stand on my own
lost, yes.
fearful, no.
need to do what i must.
Burn the demons inside me
i will come back.

move ~ A Poem a Day in March

Contentment is ok
but comfort may not get you far

and take one each day
and make them happen.
Believing and walking

why ~A Poem a Day in March

When blood is dripping from your hand
you feel the hurt you have caused.
You are holding the heart of the one you loved
cant let go because it is still connected to you.
The veins are disturbing
the murder of your own soul
sitting there wondering why, why me why must i be.

Holding your hand ~ A Poem a Day in March

I dance in your eyes
its a grand ball
When you blink
i see blue skies
It gets cold, and you find me a shawl
We walk over a bridge
and feed the coy fish
You tell me wonderful stories
about the future
how its all going to be ok
It is why i always hold your
hand.

life ~ A Poem a Day in March

Where are you from?
do you like it there?
i live on a wonderful place
its a place where you can be free
and eat lots of chocolate truffles
Birds sing beautiful melodies
i hear frogs croak too
 there's many lilies around
for you to lay on the ground
the water tastes sweet as my dreams
you can sleep here and wake in you imagination
 live your other life
the life you know you can have.

Light~ A Poem a Day in MArch

The way the sunlight shimmers on the waves
Is the way i see your eyes...
I see dreams
I see the gleam of imagination
You hear the screams,
screams that must be heard
never lose sight of the light
you are meant to go in.

Don't let the bubbles
 reflect your troubles
Run when not being chased
Run when you want to gain

Dolly ~A Poem a Day in March

I'll take this one
and this one
and maybe this one too
a blue eye and a green eye
hair too?
yes, let's add some locks
red nail polish
a sundress for spring!
no shoes, for she will be feeling the grass in her toes
braids with bangs
pink cheeks
and a light lipstick
she's such a doll.

they swim ~ A Poem a Day in March

When your sorrows are drowning you
you must swim with them.
be friends
and make a deal.
let them stay.
When you're about to fall
they shall help you.
it's the only way
for you to live anyways.

Spring~ A Poem a Day in March

Oh! Look you..!
you finally came out of your hole!
yes, its spring!
and it rained
Don't you feel great?
most flowers are blooming!
and bees are finding a mate.
and the wind is immensely blowing petals away
Bright blue skies with big fluffy pillow clouds are making shapes
for us to find.
Finally feeling the cool breeze
like if someone is giving me a kiss on the cheeks
don't sit on the grass just yet
for it might be a little wet.
but dance under the trees make the leaves sing
lay on the ground and close your eyes.
yes! its spring.

You~ A Poem a Day in March

I'm this and you're that
I'm here and you're there
i don't know you
you don't know me
Someone i can't compare
i lay on the grass and watch the clouds pass by
and pretend you're here
I can easily see your smile in my head
whenever i feel down.
Always telling me the right things.
Even if you're not here or i don't know you
you're always on my mind and on my side.

searching~ A Poem a Day in March

My eyes always looks for you
even when asleep
when they're closed
you see them moving rapidly
frantically searching for you
then, i find you in my dreams
a place i never want to leave.

Night~A Poem a Day in March

Let the moonlight
guide my walk
as i have no shoes
i am bare
by the company of the stars i am clothed
The wind sings lovely songs about how the moon
met the sun
and how they created me
im not alone.
they are with me

Resist~A Poem a Day in March

Get up, get one
Get up again, get one more
If you stop you can see what.
Will it be missed?
If you don't get, will you not gain?
Is it useful?
Or is it a waste of time of feeling full for nothing..
Will it matter?
Don't get up.
Leave.

anew~ A Poem a Day in March

She plucked one by one
she felt the warmth of her soul escaping
terrified he may be,
took one eye
replaced it with a bead
No longer she was
but she will be

A Place~ A Poem A Day in March

Filled with things
Filled with books
Random puzzle pieces everywhere
one working lamp
no room to relax but to lay with a cramp
i think of moving around
a place i can cry
a place where i can dance
a place to plan
a place to create
a place to display my personality
i find treasures underneath
i can think here. just me
looking outside the window to see what day would be
music always flowing
a place where i can scream
a place i call my bedroom.

Enough~ A Poem A Day in March

Soft hands
Strong arms
Soft enough to hold you like a cloud
Strong enough to lift you to the highest peak.
Fast legs
Fast enough to catch you when you fall.
Thoughtful
Thoughtful enough to always have you in my mind.
Wide eye'd
Wide enough to look at every part of you.
Big heart
Big enough to share my everythings with you.

Go for it~ A Poem a Day in March

Curiosity is a light
leading to greatness or death
try all your might
But save your breath

To be safe or to be a cat
play it safe you wont find a mate
Dreams are a beautiful eclat to find
Try the light
you might not die.

I got SHOT in my Dream!

I was at a Taco Truck supporting a friend, she wasn't selling tacos but churros!
but not any regular churros they were cool shaped churros, so i asked if she wanted me to make some posters to promote her, she agreed.
So behind the truck was a classroom it totally looked like those portable classrooms they had back at my high school exactly the same!. I was not alone, my old high school friend was there with me, he actually passed away last year, he had a great personality and attitude always made people laugh. so i was happy he was there, i don't know why he was there but he was. So he led me to the classroom to make these posters and there was a bunch of women there like if there was a class going on which i thought i was odd because the taco truck and the classroom was in the middle of nowhere,
anyways we walked in and greeted everyone, There was this lady yelling at her baby, to make her stop crying and she was trying to shove her in a duffle bag. i assume she was a new mom so i offered her to calm the baby myself for her so i carried the little girl and the baby just smiled at me and she finally stopped crying. I thought the baby needed some fresh air so i took her out,  as i was walking out i bumped into this tall guy, he asked if this one lady was in there and as i responded and peeked my head inside the room to point her out i noticed he had a gun, so i calmly ignored it but he saw i noticed. He said "im sorry" as he proceeded to shoot me, i was still carrying the baby i turned and jumped the rails and he shot me 3 times. i did not feel a thing! so i ran and heard shooting behind me, he was killing everyone in the room.
I made my way around the truck and i started saying "ive been shot call the ambulance" i said it three times, "ive been shot call the ambulance" " ive been shot call the ambulance" everyone there started calling.
I kneeled down and i let go of the baby, which... ok this is the weird part, (bc dreams are so logical lol) she was a baby but when i was in the ground she was walking. So anyways she wouldn't leave  she just hugged me tight, i did the same. i got up and saw doctors just standing there so i stood in front of them and faced away from them and i just lifted my shirt so show them my wounds, they immediately got me in an ambulance. somehow the gunshots did not hurt at all. But then.. when i woke up, i woke up from my dream and i felt the pain in my back ESPECIALLY on the spots where i got shot in my dream.. i was stunned of what i have dreamt.
I immediately started googling of what it means to get shot in dreams
there is a couple of beliefs:
1. " If you dream thats someone is shooting you in the back, then it means that you are involved with some questionable people who may be harmful to your well-being it also implies that you are too trusting of others".
2: Getting "shot in the back" is a metaphor for the betrayal by a trusted friend or associate, This dream suggest that the dreamer needs to "watch their back".

Interesting dream right? well it was for me, i have never had a dream like this in my life!! and i can remember this clearly.
Here's another part, on that day we went to the flea market with my family so we were walking around, i saw a child just walking by himself, he was so adorable and i asked who's kid this was and i saw the father, so i left then i saw the little kid walking by himself again and i got a little mad, asking myself " why would anyone let him be by himself that small?!" then the parents came to get him. Soon after me and my dad were looking at stuff and a guy came towards us, he didn't acknowledged us at all but i saw his hand in his pocket like he was holding a gun, you can totally see how it could've been a gun by the way his had was positioned, but then i asked myself "why would this person have a gun at the flea market in the morning".. so i brushed it off.
Later that day, in the afternoon my sister invited me to go shopping with her, so we went to this store called dd's discounts its like a Ross but cheaper! so, i was looking at some clothes i overheard this lady yelling at her kids very loud! she said " Can you please shut up i have a headache" so loud she had people around me turned around and stared. I felt bad for the kids, because if you don't think you or your kids can handle being at the store at this hour simply don't go or don't take your children with you, they get bored!
So that was my day before my dream, i don't know if you caught any similarities.
The crying child/lost child, i comforted the crying baby and i stayed with the "lost" baby since her mother was killed (in my dream) the little kid i saw at the flea market walking by himself.. i guess in my dream i did the things i wanted to do in real life
The gun, ...was i paranoid that we were gonna get shot?
oh! and also, we ate churros that day so that explains my "friend" was making churros in my dream.
Why did i get shot?
Did my mind took aspects of my day to create a meaning in my dream?
what does it mean?
i have never had a dream that was so similar to my day.. like whoa why is this happening?...

anyways.. what do you think?
